Description
The FF Faber S is an announced model of Faraday Future's Faber industrial mobile manipulator series and is not yet shipping. It is the research and wide-area model of the three: an omnidirectional chassis, the largest arm span in the series and Faraday Future's full embodied-AI data-collection toolchain on one robot.
The chassis is what you notice first. A vector drive with three steering motors gives full holonomic movement: the S can travel sideways or diagonally and rotate in place at up to 1.5 m/s, which makes it the most agile Faber in tight labs and between workstations. Its dual 7-axis force-controlled arms carry 3.5 to 5 kg each.
Its second role is data. Embodied AI learns from recorded examples of people guiding a robot through a task, and the S carries the series' full toolchain for capturing them across a wide working volume. An NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin 32 GB module provides 200 TOPS on board, and the platform runs Ubuntu 22.04 and ROS with an open SDK and API and OTA upgrades.
Faraday Future positions the S for R&D, scientific research and agile logistics, which suits universities, research institutes, corporate AI labs and integrators building wide-area applications. Because it is not yet released, its weight, battery, sensor set and reach figures are confirmed in writing at quote. For maximum perception and compute compare the Faber U; for dexterous hands, the Faber T.
